I am super thrilled about my engagement with Coffee Times as a writer, a contributor. I recently collaborated with Winston for an interview, where I got invited to talk about myself and my journey as a new writer on Medium.

Hope you enjoy it.

Tell us something about yourself —

What are your hobbies (other than writing)?

I enjoy reading. I have not read a lot (as much as I would have wanted to) but I prefer to spend my free time reading novels. My favorite books are The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I have recently been hooked to Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons and I am also reading Sapiens: A Brief History of Mankind by Yuval Noah Harari when I am in the mood.

Other than reading, I also like watching Netflix series. My favorites have been Suits, Downton Abbey, Queen’s Gambit, The Bold Type, The Big Bang Theory and The Crown. I have Bridgeton, Sex Education and Breaking Bad in line.

I also love to learn about different cultures. I like to call myself a global citizen!

How is your typical day like?

I am still settling into my marriage. I recently relocated to a new country, Ireland. My day consists of about 5 hours of writing, 2 hours of reading, an hour or more of talking to my parents and my in-laws back in India.

I also spend some time on Upwork, looking for freelancing opportunities. I usually spend my evenings with my husband — we almost regularly go for an evening walk and cook together as we share our happenings of the day with each other. Before we go to bed we watch a comedy Indian TV show called Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chashma.

As it was summer, the weather here was kind to me and I enjoyed exploring the neighborhood, but it has started to cool down and these days, I prefer to stay indoors and binge watch Netflix.

What inspired you to be a writer on Medium?
